Las Vegas Fireworks Display Will Be From The Top Of The Hotels This Year On New Years Eve

Las Vegas promises the most spectacular fireworks display ever. In the past Las Vegas always launched their fireworks from the rooftops of the tallest casinos. The entire Las Vegas valley could see them. Last year someone had the brilliant idea of launching fireworks from the garage rooftops. The reaction to shoot them off the garages was an over reaction because of the Monte Carlo fire earlier that year. The result was some locations on the Las Vegas Strip itself actually didn't even see the fireworks.

We are moving the fireworks show back to where it should be, " said LVE President Pat Christenson. "Fireworks by Grucci, the Clark County Fire Department and Building Services and the individual resort properties have worked tirelessly since January of this year to address the fire and structural safety issues associated with firing the show from the rooftops. Our goal each year is to design a show that is befitting of this city and provides a great backdrop for the thousands of revelers on the Strip."

Fireworks by Grucci of New York return as the company in charge of the pyrotechnic display. The group recently created the spectacular Grand Opening of the Atlantis Hotel and The Palm Jumeirah in Dubai and has executed numerous presidential inaugurations and citywide celebrations. Fireworks by Grucci has also produced many of Las Vegas' largest special events and grand openings, including the official Las Vegas Centennial celebration.

The fireworks return to the rooftop will include the rooftop of the new Aria Casino at CityCenter

This year the fireworks will be shot from locations ranging from the Stratosphere Tower on the North end of the Las Vegas Strip to Mandalay Bay on the far South end. In all a total of seven rooftop locations will be used on New Years Eve. The locations from South to North will be: MGM Grand, Planet Hollywood, Aria, Caesars Palace, Treasure Island (TI), Venetian and the Stratosphere.

"Las Vegas continues to be the best venue in the world to ring in the New Year, " said Rossi Ralenkotter, president and CEO of the LVCVA. "The fireworks will culminate an evening of celebrity-hosted events at nightclubs, special dining experiences at restaurants, live music at the Fremont Street Experience downtown and much more. There is no other destination that offers the excitement on New Year's Eve."

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority also says there will be several hundred thousand people. Sounds like a lot of people but don't be scared away by the throng of people. The best places to watch the fireworks on New Years Eve? The semi secret locations (try to get there around 11-11:15pm so you can have a great spot.

Casino roof top garages are the best way to watch New Years Eve fireworks for free

1) Masquerade garage roof top at the Rio. You can see up and down the back of the Las Vegas Strip from this location.

2) Palms East Garage deck. Also just behind where the Rio. The Masquerade tower may block fireworks from Treasure Island.

3) Sun Coast in garage roof top in Summerlin. Overlooks the entire city. Great view of the entire city.

4) The new garage roof top at CityCenter. This is a wildcat pick. Not sure if you can see everything from here.

5) The M garage roof top. This will look from the South end of the Las Vegas Strip towards all the casinos to the North. The view should be incredible from this location also.

Obviously the best places to view the New Years Eve fireworks are from the roof top lounges. The Voodoo Lounge at the top of the Masquerade Tower of the Rio is the best view from the back end of the Las Vegas Strip. The Voodoo Lounge New Years Eve bash is priced at $150 dollars and tickets are limited. The View from the Masquerade Garage just below Voodoo Lounge is just as spectacular and the price is right.
